Job Title: Commercial Lines Underwriter
Location: Hybrid (2 days in-office, 3 days remote)
Position Overview: My client is seeking a skilled and motivated Commercial Lines Underwriter to join their team. This role involves underwriting and managing a portfolio of commercial lines insurance products, including General Liability, Commercial Auto, and Workers Compensation. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to make sound underwriting decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and underwrite new and renewal business for General Liability, Commercial Auto, and Workers Compensation lines.
- Analyze risk factors and determine appropriate coverage and pricing.
- Collaborate with agents, brokers, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information and provide exceptional service.
- Maintain and develop strong relationships with clients and partners.
- Ensure compliance with company guidelines, industry regulations, and best practices.
- Monitor and manage the performance of the assigned portfolio.
- Provide training and support to junior underwriters and team members.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in commercial lines underwriting.
- Knowledge of General Liability, Commercial Auto, and Workers Compensation insurance products preferred but not required
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in underwriting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a hybrid work environment.
