Kirby Bates Associates has been exclusively retained by University of Michigan Health-Sparrow (UMH-Sparrow) to conduct their search for the new Director, Case Management and Utilization Review.

UMH-Sparrow, Mid-Michigan’s only community-owned and community-governed health system, is looking for a seasoned and strategic CM/UR leader for their flagship hospital. The area’s only Level 1 Trauma Center, EW Sparrow Hospital, is known for delivering world-class care that’s close to home.

The Director will have a direct impact on empowering the provision of exceptional healthcare in Mid-Michigan by working in concert with key leaders to lead the delivery of exceptional patient care and optimize resource utilization. This pivotal role will oversee strategic planning, operational efficiency and team development within the CM and UR teams.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred.
• RN required.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in case management and utilization review in an acute care hospital, with at least 3 years in case management and UR/UM leadership.
• Knowledge of Utilization Review and InterQual Criteria
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to manage complex projects and lead teams. Proficiency in utilization review criteria and reimbursement methodologies.
